Hi Michal,

When I pay out to the punters I think of feeding the cows with grass to-day so that I can 'milk' them the next day.

Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome. I was wondering if you all could tell me a bit about this site. Like where you guys are all from, what language it is that I am seeing and anything else you would like to share.

My name is Michael Cash and I own the site CappersNetwork.com . I found this site going through my stats and saw that someone who visits this board also visits mine.

So I stopped in to see what this site was all about and maybe learn something in the process.

Hello once again Michael, as you should noticed this is a Polsih site, so it's quite obvious that we all speak here Polish .
If you are a few years in this business, than you should know that there are no perfect punters, and it's the same right here on our forum, but I'm registered here from some time, and I must say that there are many very good typers who could share with you with their picks, but don't know if all of them speak fluent English.
If it goes for your question, than I'm from Zielona Góra (in English Green Berg) it the biggest and most wonderfull city in Poland (kiiding). I'm also a punter on site Bahisklavuz.com you can find my at many forums under nick SLAV or slav007o.
If you have any more question, or want to know more about something than shoot it right here.

So this site is in Poland. Cool. I was wondering what the language was. Do you know of a way for me to be able to convert the Polish version to English on my end?

Can you tell me what the names of the individual forums are in English? Like what is the name of this one and what type of stuff are you allowed to post in here.

Also, can you tell me who owns the site and if they speak English? I am going back to my forum now to see if any of my members can speak polish.

If you need any help just drop me a note at conrad@mecz.pl.

BTW, I'm the same Conrad who's a regular at Major Wager.

Conrad,

I had no idea this was your site, this is pretty cool. Does anyone at MW know about your site?

Everyone here is so helpfull, this is great. one of your members came over and registered at my site. His name is Adam. I posted a little blurb there asking if any of my members spoke Polish to help me navigate the site better.

Do you know if there is any way that I can adjust my settings so that I can view and post in Polish with english characters?

I told my members to come over and check you guys out to see how it's done in Eastern Europe.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the kind words! I'm friends with quite a few people at MW (mainly the soccer guys), and we're often in contact via email so they know about my site.

At the moment we're waiting for Infopop to provide us with a smooth and carefree transfer over to UBB.threads, the PHP+MySQL version of UBB.classic. As soon as the import utility is brought up to date we'll be making the transition.

One of the main benefits of this is that the end user will be given the option of selecting the language that he or she wants the bulletin board software to operate in, so all our English-speaking guests should find navigating the BB to be a breeze.

That is our priority right now - not only because it provides a multi-lingual interface for our users - but also because we're generating over 65-70GB of transfer each month and we need to start containing this. UBB.threads is much easier on the server than UBB.classic and it reduces the bandwidth as well.

Something that will probably come as a surprise to you is the popularity of US sports over here (at least as far as betting is concerned - time differences and tv rights are still a barrier). We have loads of people who bet on American sports, especially basketball and hockey. Hopefully we can combine our information to make the best of the wagering opportunities available.

Conrad,

That would really be great if UBB could provide an interface that would allow me to view posts in english and then post in Polish. Cause I have to be honest with you, I'm lost. It took me about 10 minutes just to sign-up! I had to go back to my site and do a mock sign-up so I could see what fields were which.

I actually am getting kinda of sick of UBB. I am thinking about converting my board over to Fusetalk like MW has. It's about triple the price but it has all the features I want that UBB seems to be slow to getting around to adding.

I actually checked out quite a few of the posts. I actually was surprised to see the Lakers game and a lot of MLB games being posted as selections. I really had no idea that North American sports got any kind of interest in Europe and Asia.

How far ahead of US E.S.T. are you?

You will have to let me know about how the UBB stuff comes along. I would love to be able to come over and bring my members so we can interact with everyone. Your guys seem to like Boxers plays from my site. I don't think he would have any idea how to sign-up though. And if UBB doesn't ever get around to it maybe you can even teach me a little Polish?

I would like to post Boxers plays over here for everyone. What thread would be appropriate to do that in? Let me know and I will start making it a regular stop on my travels.

Hi Michael,

I checked out four different software packages (UBB.threads, vBulletin, phpBB, FuseTalk) before making up my mind and deciding on Threads. PhpBB is a freebie so that choice was the first one to drop out of contention. FuseTalk was the next to go because apart from the fast search feature it didn't seem to have much to offer. I wasn't all that impressed with vBulletin's support, so they too were crossed off the list.

Threads, on the other hand, has everything going for it. For starters it's an Infopop product so upgrading should definitely be easier than with 3rd party software. Support also stays the same because in essence you'd be dealing with the same people. And the fact that it has a multilingual interface makes it a top choice for us.

Ever since Infopop took over Threads, they have turned it into a professional piece of software, redesigning and streamlining it in every possible way. It's definitely one of the fastest bulletin board programs on the market right now. If you want to give it a closer look then check out ThreadsDev.

We're 6 hours ahead of US E.S.T. I'm not sure how DST affects this but you'll always see our local time as the time of your post.

It would be great if you could share your boxing tips with us! Feel free to open up a special thread right here in the Sports Insider forum. Hopefully we can get some traffic going back and forth and provide everyone with some good picks in the process!

Conrad,

I checked out threads today. I never gave it much of a look before. I usually just looked at UBB updates and the Open Topic like what the RX uses. That was what I thought you were talking about. I didn't like that because you don't get the license, you have to pay by the month. Not very cost effective. Threads looks very interesting to me and it definately has some of the features I was looking for that is missing from my UBB classic.

I think that I may go with that now instead of FuseTalk. Mainly because of the cost and the fact that now that I have ran across you guys the language function is very cool. If we could both be able to view and post in our respective languages we could really have a unique setup. Sort of like an exchange program if you will.

Let me know when you plan on doing the conversion. I will try to get my upgrade to go concurrently with yours so we can launch at the same time. Have you talked to the Infopop people about Threads yet? I was wondering if they handle the data transfer and everything for you.

Very excited about the info sharing between our two sites. I look forward to hearing back from you.

MC
